John Lynch

 

John Lynch, 73, of Old Bridge, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009. He worked for the Township of Old Bridge for 19 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the Friendly Sons of the Shillelagh, and was a Communicant of St. Ambrose RC Church. John was happiest when he was around his family and friends who he loved very much. He was known for his dry wit, love of a good debate and a lively card game with his lifelong friends. Born in Virginia, County Cavan, Ireland, he came to the US in 1959 and was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife Mary of 45 years and three children, Jack & his wife Rebecca Lynch of Middletown, Mairead & her husband Frank Pepe of Manalapan, and Conor Lynch of Old Bridge. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Katherine & Dylan Lynch, and Michael & Mia Pepe. He is also survived by his sister, Maureen Downey and two brothers, Peter and Patrick Lynch along with several nieces & nephews.
Friends may pay their respects on Sunday, Dec. 27 from 2-7 PM at the Michael Hegarty Funeral Home, 3377 US Hwy. 9, Old Bridge, NJ 08857. The Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, Dec. 28 at 10 AM at St. Ambrose RC Church, Throckmorton Lane, Old Bridge. Interment will follow at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, E. Brunswick, NJ.
