The food pantry of the FSOS was started by Ned Farrell in 1997 to meet the needs of club members and the local community in need of assistance. In February of 2009 the position was taken over by Don Bruchez.
The club members are encouraged to bring canned or dry foods, toiletries or any other non-perishable food items to the club. In turn these items are transported to the Old Bridge food bank or St. Vincent de Paul. Sometimes, specific items are purchased for these places depending on their exact needs. These items help many families in need. Also the food pantry helps individual club members as well as assisting with the cost of the Thanksgiving baskets.
If anyone would like to make any separate donations, or would like to find out more about the food pantry please contact; Don Bruchez cell: 908-705-4687 or at home: 732-723-3560. Any other ideas of charities to contribute to, or of possible fund raisers are welcome. Thanks for your support.
Note: Club members are asked to bring food stuffs with them on meeting nights.
Sincerely,
Don Bruchez
